Welcome to Saint Andrew’s web site. I am glad that you have discovered us in cyberspace and invite
you to come and see what we have to offer. We are a diverse group of
Episcopalians who live in all parts of Tampa, ranging far and wide from South
Tampa to Westchase to Wesley Chapel to Valrico. We come together in
downtown Tampa to worship God in the beauty of holiness in a lovely, historic
Spanish mission-style structure (built c. 1904). While having a variety of theological
viewpoints, we enjoy traditional worship according to the Book of Common
Prayer of the Episcopal Church. At Saint Andrew’s we strive to do
liturgy decently, reverently, and in order, as Saint Paul directed. Our
music program is second to none and we uphold the great Anglican choral
tradition. We offer many educational opportunities for everyone, from
Sunday School for all ages to youth groups to Tuesday night and Thursday
morning adult classes. We place much emphasis on outreach. Being
a downtown church, we are well aware of the many homeless and transients in
our immediate vicinity and seek to reach out to them. For example, we
distribute free bag lunches to 50 people every day, Monday through Friday. We seek to proclaim the good news of
Jesus Christ through worship, learning, and service. I invite you to
come and visit us on a Sunday morning. I trust that you will find Saint
Andrew’s to be a place of hope, healing, and hospitality in the midst of
downtown Tampa.
