Helping
Hands
This
committee hosts receptions after funerals and takes food to parishioners
who have had a baby, are sick, or have had a death in the family. Contact Winston

Youth
Ministry
An
active youth program for grades 6-12 is available at St. Andrew’s.
Activities include Sunday evening gatherings that include spiritual growth,
community building, and games and food. Special trips, fund raisers and
outreach projects take place throughout the year. Contact the new Youth Director.

Acolytes
Acolytes
serve at liturgies throughout the year, primarily at the 10:00 AM Sunday morning
services. They play an important role in our liturgy, lighting candles,
leading processions, and assisting the clergy. This ministry is open to
children in fourth grade and older. Contact Fred Waters.

Altar
Guild
The
Altar Guild is responsible for the care of the altar and the linens and
vessels used, and the preparation of the altar for every worship service,
including weddings and funerals that have communions. Contact Fr. Reese.

Chalice
Bearers - Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors
Lay
Eucharistic Ministers are parishioners licensed by the Bishop to assist in
the administration of Holy Communion at all services. They may also read
lessons and lead the Prayers of the People. Some of these special ministers
also volunteer to take communion to the home-bound or hospitalized. Contact

Choirs
St.
Andrew’s has a rich musical heritage, and our music program offers a
variety of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Visit the Music page for more

Lay
Readers
Lay
Readers are licensed by the Bishop to conduct services of Morning and
Evening Prayer and other daily offices. Contact Fr. Reese.

Ushers
Ushers
help with the greeting and seating of people at the Sunday services and
also take up the collection and facilitate the communion reception process.
Men and women and families are needed to help with this, and training is
provided. Contact Gray Sanders

Sunday
Coffee Hour Hosts
These
special people take the time to provide the wonderful refreshments that
accompany the fellowship we enjoy on Sunday morning after the 10 am
service. If you would like to volunteer for a Sunday, sign up in the Parish
Hall or contact Kathy
Jenkins.

Daughters
of the King
The
Daughters of the King work to promote the extension of Christ’s kingdom
throughout the world through prayer, service and evangelism. They maintain
an active prayer chain for anyone needing their prayers. The Daughters meet
the 3rd Monday of each month at 10 a.m. and the Sunday Daughters meets the
4th Sunday of each month at 9:00 a.m. Contact for the Sunday

St. Monica’s Chapter
Meets
on the 2nd Monday of each month in the parish hall. The primary concern has
always been the young people of the parish and the chapter was instrumental
in establishing the Sunday family service. Its members support many church
and community outreach projects. Contact Virginia

Men’s
Prayer Breakfasts
This
group meets for breakfast every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at First Watch
restaurant downtown for fellowship, discussion, and prayer. Contact Jim Harris,

Fridays @ 5:30 Social Club
(aka. Saint Andrew’s Mixed TGIF Retreat)
Meets
Friday evenings on the 6th floor of the Parish Hall from 5:30 pm
– 7, and is open to all church members and their guests. It's an
opportunity to unwind at the end of the week; nothing formal, no agenda,
and totally low-pressure. Bring a six-pack of your favorite beer, beverage,

Circle of Mary and Joseph
This is a new ministry at St. Andrew’s, which we hope may spread
to other parishes, dioceses, and denominations. Participants are dedicated
to the support of prospective and new parents - whether biological, foster,
or adoptive - through prayer, referral to social services, and support in

Church
School Teachers
Church
School teachers, assistants and substitutes are always needed in the St.
Andrew’s Church School program. Contact the new Youth Director.

Volunteers
Volunteers
help out with a myriad of different jobs in the offices. They answer
phones, make phone calls, fold, stuff, staple, stamp, copy, file, answer the downstairs’ door bell, greet visitors,

Arts
at St. Andrew‘s

This new venture is a cultural outreach ministry. Our first
year will include a thirty minute concert series at 12:30 on Thursdays in
October and May as well as a Sunday afternoon series of concerts and
evensongs.

Christian
Education Committee
This
committee of the Vestry seeks to ensure that we are meeting the spiritual
and religious education needs of all our members. Sunday school teachers
and parents of youth and young children are welcome to offer their input on

Committee
The
Finance Committee oversees the financial state of St. Andrew’s for the

Advisory Board
The
Foundation Advisory Board monitors the endowments of the parish and manages

Committee
The
Stewardship Committee organizes the yearly Every Member Canvass in which
parishioners are asked to make a pledge to St. Andrew’s. Stewardship Sunday

This
committee seeks to nurture the spiritual and physical life of the parish
community. The group also seeks to develop the newcomer program and help
solve transportation issues for many of the parish members unable to drive.
