Now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. I Corinthians 12:4-7

Let each one do as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. I Corinthians 9:7

END OF YEAR GIVING: According to IRS tax rules for charitable deductions, donors must deliver checks on or by December 31, 2011 in order to claim a charitable contribution deduction for 2011. Checks that are placed in the church offering during the first worship service in 2012 (January 1st) will not qualify for a charitable contribution deduction in 2011, even if the check is predated to 2011 or was actually written in 2011. However, checks that are written, mailed and postmarked in 2011 will be deductible in 2011 though they are not received by a church until 2012.

How can I repay the LORD

for all his goodness to me?

I will lift up the cup of salvation

and call on the name of the LORD.

Psalm 116:12-13
